To provide leadership in the development, marketing and delivery of high quality tourism experiences and facilities which protect, preserve and enhance the integrity and long term viability of the Mornington Peninsula environs. MPT embraces a holistic approach to tourism services, coordinating visitor information, industry development and professionalism, and strategic cooperative marketing from the one location, the Mornington Peninsula Visitor Information Centre in Dromana. Our Core Responsibilities: • Marketing and promotion of Mornington Peninsula as a whole including (but not limited to) restaurants, food producers and wineries, shopping, parks, gardens and golf clubs, attractions and accommodation venues. • New product development, cooperative marketing initiatives, research and industry development. • Leadership in strategic cooperative marketing campaigns, including the award winning Swap Card touring initiative, Official Guide for Visitors, Touring Map and other marketing collateral. • Community liaison and industry promotion via MPT members, Mornington Peninsula Shire and wider community sectors. • Provision of Visitor Services via the Level One Accredited Mornington Peninsula Visitor Information Centre & Booking Service located in Dromana. • Electronic reservations system, event ticketing service, and other online visitor services. Management Structure: The Mornington Peninsula Tourism Board of Management comprises General Delegates elected from Local and Industry Associations and representatives from Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, Frankston City Council and Parks Victoria. From the Delegates an Executive Board is elected to manage the strategic direction for the region in partnership with Tourism Victoria. The role of the General Delegates is to provide a communications link between the Executive, and the individual members of Local Tourism Associations. The Executive Board meets on a monthly basis and the General Delegates every 2nd month. The Mornington Peninsula Shire s (MPS) Economic Development Department provides MPT Inc. with support, marketing and visitor services via its Tourism Unit. The Tourism Services Unit is comprised of highly skilled staff based at the Mornington Peninsula Visitor Information Centre. MPS funds the Tourism Unit staffing and building expenses. All marketing expenses are met by industry contributions to co-operative marketing campaigns.
