Mornington Peninsula Beachside Tourism

The largest Local Tourism Association covering the whole of the southern Mornington Peninsula. BEACHSIDE Members come from different sorts of businesses including – retailers, water activities, accommodation providers, tour operators, hotels, motels, booking agencies, transport operators, recreational activities and golf etc.
 

"To promote tourism whilst acting with integrity to preserve the environment for the future" ... The motto of Beachside Tourism says it all!

Our members are passionate about the Mornington Peninsula and all it has to offer. With the largest membership of any Local Tourism Authority we cover from Portsea to Safety Beach. Our members come from a huge diversity of businesses - retailers, accommodation providers including B&Bs, hotels and motels, tour operators, water activities, booking agencies, recreational activities, golf etc.

Projects

Beachside Tourism has initiated a number of exciting projects which enhance the information available to tourists and residents alike.

  • Tourist Information Centre at Sorrento and tourist information caravan at Rosebud during the summer season & various locations & events during the year - all manned by Beachside Association volunteers
  • Tear-off tourist map of Southern Peninsula - the first of its kind for the Peninsula
  • Accommodation Guide of all members
  • Attraction and Activities Guide of all members
  • Website showcasing all members to the public, and sharing information between members
  • Assisted Mornington Peninsula Tourism with up-to-date information boards at Sorrento and Rye
  • Involvement in the Community
  • Beachside members are concerned about supporting their local community in a tangible way. Over the past six years we have
  • Assisted the Uncle Bob's Club by providing lunch to the volunteers during the Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal
  • Consulted with the Victorian Channels Authority re the Channel Deepening Project
  • Assisted Vision Australia with their fun run
  • Supported National Parks Association and Heritage Australia in their expressions of interest re Point Nepean quarantine land
  • Established the "Bernard Clarke Memorial Award" which is presented annually to one of our members for exceptional contributions to tourism during the year
  • Manned a tourist information stand at the Sand Sculpting Competition at Rye
