The house known as 'Craigie Cottage is one of the oldest homes in Mt Martha.Built with Mornington Peninsula limestone,it has been remodelled and extended while still retaining the best qualities of its original character.High ceilings and timber detailing around the walls of the spacious entry are reminders of a bygone era. The rooms are styled in a charmingly unpretentious country manner.Soft furnishings reflect the love of flower gardens and offer a gentle romantic mood The B and B suite The B & B suite comprises the front set of rooms-bedroom,bathroom and sitting room-which together with the front entrance become the sole domain of guests. The rest of the house is separated by a locked door,so guests can be assured of uninterrupted privacy during their stay.Alternate access to the residence means host and guests need not cross paths between check in and check out. A gorgeous garden is also available for guests to sit with a cuppa,a book, breakfast or a glass of wine and relax without concern for intrusion. The gardens are the work of a serious garden lover,composed of bursts of rich and delicate colours,graceful trees and favourite sitting areas. Guests are welcomed with an afternoon tea treat,or cheese and biscuits. | |
