Contemporary Australian Silver & Metalwork Exhibition

A Buda Historic Home & Garden exhibition (toured by NETS Victoria)  This biennial exhibition, established in 1988, commemorates the work of colonial gold and silversmith, Ernest Leviny, who lived at Buda. This fascinating display endeavours to celebrate and continue the traditions of the metalsmith craft, by placing the works in a contemporary context. 
Montalto Sculpture Prize Finalists Exhibition

The Montalto Sculpture Prize $20,000 acquisitive award and Pennon Hill peopleÂ’s choice award $1,000 (non-acquisitive). Is open to all artists working in any medium. The Montalto Sculpture Prize was conceived by John & Wendy Mitchell, a further extension of their vision for a winery that combined estate grown premium wines with award winning architectural design and one of the best restaurants on the Mornington Peninsula. In 2003 their passion for supporting the visual arts was realised with an annual sculpture prize.
Montalto Vineyard and Olive Grove provides a picturesque outdoor gallery that embraces all aspects of the vineyard, from the orchard and olive groves to the herb garden and wetlands. Curated by Neil Williams, the sculptures are creatively sited throughout the 50 acre property. The collection has now become an integral part of Montalto, adding interest and creative energy to an otherwise idyllic scene.

Colour in the Sky Kite Festival at Rosebud

The sixth kite festival at Rosebud will be held beside the pier at Jetty Road, on Sunday 7th March from 11am to 5pm, and the skies of Rosebud will once again be alive with a myriad of colourful kites.

This year sees Craig Hansen, from Peter Lynn Kites in New Zealand, participate in the festival flying some of the country’s biggest kites. With massive dinosaurs, octopus and dragons, the sight will be magnificent. Together with the demonstration flying from members of the Australian Kite Association, including a World Champion Flyer, spectators are in for a real treat.

Throughout the day children can participate in workshops for kite making, craft and circus skills and enjoy carnival rides and a massive water slide. Roving clowns, musicians and stilt walkers will keep the entire family entertained while on stage the music will include local bands, African drumming bands and popular children’s entertainers.

There will be hot food, ice cream and coffee stalls, so bring a chair or rug and relax for a few hours in these spectacular colourful surroundings.
